CTCI and CB&I Joint Venture Selected as Contractor for ORPIC Liwa Plastic Industrial Complex -- Steam Cracker and U&O Package
Joint Venture of CTCI Corporation (CTCI) and CB&I has received a notice of intention to award from Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries Company (Orpic) an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (“EPC”) contract for 880 KTA steam cracker and associated utilities package, which is approximately USD$2.8 billion. This is the first project CTCI undertakes in Oman. It is another mega project awarded to CTCI after it successfully contracted Petronas’ refinery plant project in 2014.

This project is located at Sohar port, which is 100km north from Muscat, the capital of Sultanate of Oman. This project is the biggest and the most important core package of Liwa Plastics Industrial Complex (LPIC). With the investment of LPIC, Oman will expand its petrochemical project to further downstream sectors, and achieve the goal of developing high-value-added petrochemical products. The joint venture of CTCI  and CB&I won the mega petrochemical plant project by demonstrating their respective core competiveness. Once again, the awarding of the project proves CTCI’s outstanding engineering track records and abilities to execute international projects. Moreover, it also marks a milestone for Taiwanese enterprise winning a great battle in the international engineering markets.
