CTCI, the largest global engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) group in Taiwan and one of the top 100 engineering firms globally, has been selected as Top 100 Companies with a "Carbon Competitive Edge" by Business Weekly in 2022. On behalf of the company, CTCI Corporation Chairman Michael Yang receives the award from Jong-chin Shen, Vice Premier of the Executive Yuan on Dec. 9.
CTCI has long been committed to promoting sustainability development with its core competencies in green engineering. In recognition of the superior performance, CTCI Corporation Chairman Michael Yang is invited to attend the "Carbon Competitive Edge Summit" and deliver a presentation on how CTCI gains a competitive edge in carbon efficiency with expertise in green engineering. Also invited are internationally acclaimed author Seth Godin, editor of "The Carbon Almanac: It’s Not Too Late," Mauricio Cárdenas, Chair of Carbon Pricing Leadership Coalition, World Bank, and top managers at other enterprises winning the title.
The ranking is co-organized by Business Weekly, Taiwan Climate Partnership, and KPMG Sustainability Consulting Co. Ranking was majorly based on the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), while referring to the corporate sustainability reports published by each enterprise, and the information at the Market Observation Post System. Key criteria are "carbon productivity," "commitment to reduce carbon emission," "management team," and "Scope 3 emissions." Based on the information disclosed, the Top 100 Companies with a Carbon Competitive Edge have been selected from around 1,000 TWSE listed companies.
CTCI has been selected as constituent of DJSI Emerging Markets Indices for 8 consecutive years (and the most sustainable enterprise in the engineering & construction category in 2022), continuously honored with Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards’ Top Ten Domestic Corporate Award for six straight years, and has received accolades such as grade A for Morgan Stanley Capital International’s (MSCI) ESG Rating, B score (Management level) from Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), ESG awards from the Global Views Monthly, CommonWealth Magazine’s Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility Award, "Taiwan Circular Economy Hero Award," and silver award at the "Diversity for Better Tomorrow Awards" for creating a friendly work environment.
Committed to realizing its ESG vision of being "A Guardian of Sustainable Earth," CTCI has been delivering green engineering projects that cater to both economic and environmental needs around the world; the green engineering projects contracted by CTCI range from solar power, water resources, wind power, resource cycling/reuse, and mass rapid transit systems. It has become the supporting power behind the sustainable development of Taiwan.
