Corporate Citizenship

CTCI Education Foundation
Established in November, 2015, CTCI Education Foundation has a vision for Integrating UN 2030 SDGs with sustainable engineering and Taiwan's sustainable development, committed to advancing engineering education and enhancing industry value. There are five committees under the CTCI Education Foundation: Academic Cooperation Committee, Sustainable Engineering Committee, Cross-Strait Exchange Committee, International Exchange Committee, and Social Care Committee. These committees provide strategic direction, while the secretariat is responsible for executing various initiatives. By integrating resources from industry, government, and academia, the foundation aims to advance the sustainable development of Taiwan’s engineering industry chain. In addition, the foundation actively promotes sustainable development education by organizing diverse activities to foster awareness and practical understanding of sustainable engineering among both domestic and international students as well as the general public. It also continues to expand international collaboration to pave the way for innovative progress in future sustainable development.

Company-wide Engagement to Sustainability and Integrate it Into the Core Business

CTCI Group promotes sustainability and engineering awareness among elementary students through interactive sessions and site visits. Activities like VR simulations, metro evacuation camps, and creative video projects make learning hands-on and engaging. Since 2022, the Group has sponsored 15 rural students annually to join a three-day camp that offers diverse, non-residential learning experiences. Using a “return-on-impact” model, the program nurtures future sustainability and engineering talent while supporting regional development.

CTCI Group integrates its three core businesses—green engineering, circular economy, and smart applications—through intelligent EPC (iEPC) solutions, creating strong alignment with the SDGs. By sharing the strategies and performance of leading domestic and international engineering companies, and through data collection, expert consultation, international benchmarking forums, and ESG workshops, a phased development roadmap has been formulated and outcomes are presented through collaborative platforms.

CTCI Group encourages its global employees to contribute to planetary sustainability by evaluating project proposals based on originality, feasibility, impact, and relevance to the SDGs. In 2024, for the first time, a Thai employee was shortlisted and awarded third place in the Department/Project category, while an Indian employee won third place in the Individual category. This highlights the program’s expansion to CTCI Group’s overseas branches and its growing tangible impact.
Strengthen Sustainable Education and Cultivate Sustainable Talents

Diversified competitions and projects such as the "Youth Sustainability Innovation Program," "SDGS Academic Research Paper Award," and "The Living Lab Award" were held. Held the "Taiwan in My Eyes 120 Hours" competition project activity and academic paper selection to provide "CTCI Scholarship" to outstanding young students with different levels of evaluation results to promote corporate social responsibility through sustainable education.

The integration of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), referred to as ESDGs, represents a global trend in the field of education.

CTCI encourages teachers and administrative teams from high schools, junior high schools, and elementary schools across the country to understand ESD and the United Nations SDGs, and to promote the integration of sustainability topics into the curriculum. In 2024, a total of 46 teams from 45 schools and 196 teachers participated, deepening both global and local sustainability awareness.

The Living Lab integrates experimental environments into campuses, communities, and society through perception, prototyping, validation, and improvement, in order to address global sustainability challenges.

The initiative encourages collaboration among industry, government, academia, research institutions, and NGOs to advance sustainability-related academic research, projects, knowledge application, and social responsibility. It aims to accelerate the dissemination of sustainability expertise, establish role models in sustainability, and promote outstanding research that supports effective sustainable transformation.
Follow Global Trends and Expand International Horizons

Since its establishment, the “Taiwan in my eyes 120h” program has attracted 608 exchange students from 74 countries and 42 universities, all of whom received scholarships to participate.

In response to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Agreement, which are actively responded to by global production officials, CTCI is committed to promoting responsible investment and sustainable development. CTCI EF is co-organizing the "Global Corporate Sustainability Forum" connected academic research contexts and trends.

CTCI leverages its strong performance and information sharing to build industry consensus and promote sustainable development. Through SDG partnerships, CTCI also drives progress across the supply chain. The event gathered experts, scholars, industry leaders, and the public to exchange ideas on building a sustainable future. Key topics included artificial intelligence, nature-based solutions, and sustainable talent.

Topics such as industry practices, circular economy, and sustainability education help readers deepen their understanding of sustainable development. In 2023, volumes 2 to 4 were released as e-books to expand access. The foundation also publishes an annual special report each November, available for free download on its website, promoting transparency and stakeholder engagement.
Advocate Sustainable Value, Create a Platform Across Different Sectors

CTCI Foundation took part in the 2024 SDG Asia Expo, Taiwan’s largest sustainability exhibition, attracting nearly 2,000 participants. Through interactive activities like the “Sustainability Tree Initiative,” board games, and book previews, the foundation promoted ESG awareness and showcased CTCI Group’s sustainability efforts. The event also featured award ceremonies and film screenings, enhancing public engagement and international visibility.

In 2022, CTCI Education Foundation was recognized by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) conference, becoming the 11th Taiwanese NGO to gain observer status. In 2024, the foundation participated in the COP 29 conference, led by Ambassador Eugene Chien, Chairman of CTCI EF. The delegation included CTCI Group’s representative, Sustainability Director Joanne Ho, seizing the opportunity to enhance interaction with observers and government delegations around the world.
