CTCI Receives "Diversity for Better Tomorrow Awards" for Creating a Friendly Work Environment
CTCI won the Influential Corporation Silver Award at the first "Diversity for Better Tomorrow Awards." Joanne Ho, Chief Sustainability Officer of CTCI, accepted the award on October 27 on behalf of the company.
The award is jointly organized by the online media outlet Womany, social media network LinkedIn, and Deloitte. The aim of the award is to encourage companies to create diverse and inclusive workplaces. Companies are scored on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), and their actions toward these aspects. It echoes four of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 5 Gender Equality, SDG 8 Decent Work and Economic Growth, SDG 16 Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, and SDG 17 Partnerships for the Goals.
As Taiwan's largest and one of the world's top 100 international engineering groups, CTCI has established 40 operating locations in over 10 countries. The company views employees as its most important asset and is dedicated to creating a diverse, inclusive, safe, and comfortable workplace. CTCI has built a comprehensive talent training and retention system to help employees achieve robust work-life balance. The company also actively employs people of different genders, religions, races, nationalities, ages, and minority groups, establishing a workplace that values talent, respects diversity, demonstrates inclusivity, and implements teamwork. Specific actions include formulating a comprehensive human rights policy, establishing a healthcare platform, organizing maternal health seminars, implementing a prayer room for Muslim employees, subsidizing 18 diverse associations within the company, organizing multicultural tours, and providing flexible work hours.
CTCI is committed to becoming a "A Guardian of Sustainable Earth," receiving recognition for its use of its core business to generate sustainable engineering impacts. The honors bestowed on CTCI include being selected as an emerging market constituent stock of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) for seven consecutive years, winning the Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Award (TCSA) Top 10 Domestic Corporates Award for five consecutive years, ranking in the top 5% of the Corporate Governance Evaluation, winning the 2021 Best Companies to Work for in Asia Award by HR Asia, and receiving ESG awards from CommonWealth Magazine and Global Views Monthly. CTCI promises to continue being "the most reliable global engineering services provider" and contributing to the sustainable development of the Earth.
