CTCI Becomes the First EPC Company in Taiwan Certified to ISO 19650 Standards
CTCI announced today that it has been certified by SGS Taiwan to two ISO standards related to Building Information Modeling (BIM): the ISO 19650-2:2018 and ISO 19650-5:2020. The certification, which was based on the successful execution of a well-known company's fab project by CTCI, now sees CTCI's BIM applications meet international standards— the first Taiwanese company to do so. This helps raise the quality of CTCI's plant and factory designs, achieve information integration, and better manage informational security, all of which are highly demanded by the advanced technology facility sector that is characterized by tight and fast-paced project schedules.
The certification ceremony took place on July 28. CTCI was represented by William Pung, President of Advanced Technology Facilities Business Operations at CTCI Corp., who received the certification from Stephen Pao, Deputy General Manager at SGS Taiwan.
"CTCI has plenty of experience applying BIM in public works and private projects," says Pung during the ceremony. "Some other datacenter projects contracted by CTCI, such as that of Microsoft and Vantage, also adopt BIM technologies. CTCI is committed to providing our clients services that meet global standards."
CTCI's ISO 19650-2:2018 and 19650-5:2020 certifications are certifications that build upon CTCI's previous ISO 9001 (quality management) and ISO 27001 (information security management system) certifications.
ISO 19650 is a series of quality management standards related to BIM— a visualized and digitized technology. The standards apply to the planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance stages across the full project lifecycle. ISO 19650-2:2018 focuses on digital modeling and delivered results during design stage. ISO 19650-5:2020 focuses on informational security management for printed and digital data used for digital modeling and delivered result.
CTCI, the leading engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) service provider in Taiwan, is one of the top 100 engineering companies according to Engineering News-Record (ENR) rankings, and has been a component of the Dow Jones Sustainability Emerging Markets Index for 7 years. As a preferred partner for clients worldwide, CTCI is committed to offering reliable services through progressive skills and technologies.
